Newcastle Carers can work with you to help you find the information you need to care for someone and can inform you about other services to help you to look after yourself. They provide a range of services including; information, advice and guidance, drop-in information and advice sessions, Carer Cafés, carer Support groups, complementary therapy, counselling, and a chance to have your say.  They also have a dedicated young adult carer service for 18-25 year olds and offer one-to-one and group support, helping carers to understand what they are entitled to.

Supporting those who have caring responsibilities for a family member who has a serious illness or any type of disability. Engages with educational services to reduce the risk of social exclusion or underachieving.

This project support kinship carers  – people who are bringing up a relative’s child.  The offer a befriending service and support groups. They campaign for improved rights for kinship carers locally and nationally.

Positive Response to Overcoming Problems of Substance misuse (PROPS) is a North East based support service for individuals, families and carers of those living with alcohol and substance misuse. PROPS provides a wide range of support services such as: one-to-one support, counselling, drug awareness training, a confidential out-of-hours helpline, volunteer support and respite breaks.
