Positive Behaviour Support Workshops Autumn 2022

Skills for People will be running more Positive Behaviour Support workshops this Autumn in partnership with  Newcastle Gateshead NHS Clinical Commissioning Group.

These workshops are for family carers who have a child who is autistic and/or has a learning disability. If you are waiting for a diagnosis for your child you are also very welcome to attend.

VCS organisations join forces to tackle inequalities and improve support for people with learning disabilities across the North of Tyne and Gateshead.

Thanks to NHS Charities Together, Newcastle Hospitals Charity and County Durham Community Foundation for supporting us with funding of £183,000.00 from the Covid-19 Community Partnership Grants Programme (North East and North Cumbria).

Do you look after someone?
You may be entitled to a COVID-19 vaccination

If you are over 18 and the primary carer of someone who is clinically vulnerable and haven’t received your vaccination or received an invitation to book your vaccination, you can use the National Booking Service at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or call 119

You will need to provide your:

  • name
  • date of birth
  • NHS number (if you know it)

There are a few questions to answer to see if you are eligible.

Learning Disability Social Prescribing Link Workers

Link WorkerSkills for People are now working with the Outer West Primary Care Network in Newcastle upon Tyne, at six GP practices to support people with learning disabilities to access health services.

This will include supporting people to have their Annual Health Checks and helping them carry out Health Actions Plans.
