If you live in Tyne & Wear you can apply for the following concessionary travel passes from Nexus. You will:
- Need to be assessed by social care and obtain a Confirmation of Eligibility form – contact your Local Authority for more advice
- Travel free from 9.30am and all day at the weekends

- Eligible if you receive the higher/enhanced component of DLA/Personal Independence Payment
- Carer would travel free
Metro Gold Card
If you have a CT pass you can apply for a Metro Gold Card. You will be issued with a smart ticket which will be loaded onto your CT pass directly. They cost £12 to buy (if you live in Tyne & Wear) and provide free travel on the Metro from 9.30am and all day at the weekend.
