Skills for People was started in 1983.

Skills for People was set up by some disabled people and their supporters and family members.

Lots of people with learning disabilities work at Skills for People. Some are paid, and some are volunteers. You can click here to find out who works at Skills for People.

Most of our work is in North East England. Members of our team travel all over to tell people about our work, and to work with other organisations like ours.

Skills for People gets money to do its work from councils and health services, and from charities.
