We are delighted that the work of our colleague Bryn, was highlighted by Joe Morris, MP for Hexham, in the UK House of Commons during a debate on employment for neurodivergent people.
The debate highlighted the barriers autistic people face in accessing work, the urgent need for more inclusive recruitment practices, and the value of lived experience in shaping better policy. Bryn’s work and experiences were recognised as part of this important national debate.
Bryn is an amazing advocate and campaigner for awareness and the rights of autistic people, and it’s wonderful to see his work being recognised in this important political debate.
He said, “It has felt fantastic to be listened to by my MP and my points be took to a parliamentary debate and for my hard work to be recognized. I hope that things change for the better for autistic people and people with a learning disability. I will never not use my voice when I can.”
This is a reminder of why our mission matters, to make sure that disabled people and their families are in control of their lives, are strong, confident and included in the communities of their choice.
